Concrete Contractor in Midlothian, TX

Driveways, patios, shop slabs and commercial flatwork across Midlothian and western Ellis County — placed by our own crews, a short run down US-287 from our Arlington yard.

Why Midlothian Chooses TexTex Concrete

Midlothian sits on the western edge of Ellis County where US-287 meets US-67, and it has grown from a cement-plant town into one of the busiest residential markets south of the metroplex. New subdivisions keep opening along FM 663 and the 287 corridor, and older lots closer to downtown are ready for replacement driveways and larger patios.

The town's nickname, the Cement Capital of Texas, comes from the plants on its south side — which also means plenty of heavy truck traffic on local roads. We size driveway thickness and reinforcement for the loads a property actually sees, and we come straight down US-287 from Arlington, so Midlothian is a regular route for our crews.

Built for Midlothian's Ground

Midlothian has two kinds of ground: expansive Blackland Prairie clay across much of town, and in places shallower soil over the Austin Chalk — the same limestone the cement plants quarry. The clay swells when it is wet and shrinks hard in a dry August; the rockier ground drains differently and can leave voids under a slab if it is not prepared properly.

We read the site before we price it — subgrade compacted and moisture-conditioned rather than just graded flat, reinforcement set on chairs in the middle of the slab, and control joints spaced for how that particular piece of ground moves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Midlothian is just west of Waxahachie on US-287, inside our regular service area south of Arlington. We work throughout the town and the surrounding area, including Mansfield, Venus, Cedar Hill, Ovilla and Waxahachie. If a job is outside what we can properly service, we tell you on the phone rather than quoting it.

New-build driveways and back patios, extended parking pads, shop and barn slabs on the larger lots west of town, and commercial flatwork along the US-287 and US-67 corridors. We also handle demolition and haul-off when old concrete has to come out first.

Standard 4" residential flatwork typically runs $6–$10 per square foot installed, which puts most two-car driveway replacements in the $4,000–$9,000 range once demolition and haul-off are included. Thickness, rebar spacing, access and sub-grade condition move it. Your quote is free, written and itemised, based on a measure on your property.

Foot traffic is usually fine after 24–48 hours. Keep vehicles off for at least seven days, and heavy or loaded traffic for 28 days, which is when the mix reaches design strength. We give you the specific timeline for your pour and the weather it cured in.

Where a job needs a permit, inspection or engineered drawing, we tell you at proposal stage and, where the proposal says so, handle the submittal. Approval timing sits with the city, not with us.
